Publication Ethics

Jurnal Manajementa (Jumat) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published twice a year and available online. This ethical statement outlines the responsibilities and expected ethical behaviour of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, members of the Editorial Board, peer reviewers, and the publisher. This statement is formulated in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential contribution to the development of a reliable and respected body of scholarly knowledge. It reflects the quality of the authors’ work and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed publications uphold and advance academic integrity and the scientific method. Therefore, Jurnal Manajementa (Jumat) establishes clear ethical standards for all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, the publisher, and the wider academic community.

As the publisher of the journal, Jurnal Manajementa (Jumat) takes its responsibility for all stages of the publication process seriously and is committed to ensuring that editorial decisions are not influenced by advertising, commercial interests, or other external factors.

Publication Decisions

The Editor of Jurnal Manajementa (Jumat) is responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts are accepted for publication. Editorial decisions are based on the scholarly merit, originality, clarity, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal’s scope. Editors may be guided by the policies of the Editorial Board and must comply with legal requirements concerning libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may consult with other editors or reviewers when making publication decisions.

Fair Play

Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on the basis of their intellectual content, without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political ideology of the authors.

Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, editorial advisers, or the publisher, as appropriate.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used by editors for their own research without the explicit written consent of the author(s).

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer review assists editors in making informed editorial decisions and helps authors improve the quality of their manuscripts through constructive feedback.

Promptness

Reviewers who feel unqualified to evaluate a manuscript or who are unable to complete the review within the agreed timeframe should promptly inform the editor and withdraw from the review process.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others without authorisation from the editor.

Standards of Objectivity

Reviews should be conducted objectively and professionally. Personal criticism of the author(s) is inappropriate, and reviewers should provide clear, reasoned, and evidence-based comments.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors and notify the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under review and other published work.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must remain confidential and not be used for personal advantage. Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.

Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards

Authors should present accurate, honest, and objective accounts of their research. Sufficient detail and references must be provided to allow replication. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements are unacceptable.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original and that any use of others’ work or ideas is properly cited or quoted.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously or publish substantially similar research in multiple outlets.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Proper acknowledgment of all sources that have influenced the research must be provided.

Authorship of the Paper

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All listed authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation. All sources of funding must be clearly stated.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works

If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they must promptly notify the editor and cooperate fully in correcting or retracting the article.
