Plagiarism Policy

Jurnal Manajementa (Jumat) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. The journal recognises the importance of preventing plagiarism and ensuring that all submitted manuscripts represent original scholarly work.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism refers to the use of another person’s ideas, words, data, figures, or any other intellectual content without proper acknowledgment or citation. This includes direct copying, inappropriate paraphrasing, and the reuse of previously published material without proper reference. Plagiarism also includes self-plagiarism, in which authors reuse substantial parts of their own previously published work without appropriate citation or disclosure.

Turnitin Similarity Check

To maintain academic integrity, Jurnal Manajementa (Jumat) screens all submitted manuscripts using Turnitin. Each manuscript is checked for similarity against a broad range of academic sources, publications, and online materials.

Plagiarism Threshold

The journal allows a maximum similarity index of 20% based on the Turnitin report. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the author(s) for revision, clarification, or improvement of citations. Authors are strongly encouraged to ensure that their manuscripts comply with ethical writing and referencing standards prior to submission.

Actions on Identified Plagiarism

When plagiarism is identified, the journal will take the following actions:

  • Minor Plagiarism
Manuscripts with a similarity index slightly above the acceptable threshold, due to improper citation or inadequate paraphrasing, will be returned to the author(s) for revision and resubmission.

  • Serious Plagiarism
Manuscripts containing substantial plagiarism, including extensive copied content or undeclared self-plagiarism, will be rejected without further review. The author(s) may be restricted from submitting future manuscripts to the journal.

  • Retraction
If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be formally retracted, and a retraction notice will be published in accordance with ethical publishing standards.

Author Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and free from plagiarism. All sources of information, data, and ideas must be properly cited. The use of quotations, paraphrased content, or previously published material must comply with the citation style and ethical standards required by Jurnal Manajementa (Jumat).
