Retraction Policy

Jurnal Manajementa (Jumat) recognises that authors and reviewers invest significant effort in the preparation and evaluation of manuscripts. However, in certain circumstances, it may be necessary to correct, retract, or remove published articles to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record. Retractions are not undertaken lightly and are applied only under exceptional conditions, following strict standards to maintain trust in the journal’s academic archive. The journal is committed to safeguarding the accuracy, reliability, and completeness of the scientific record for researchers, institutions, and libraries.

Article Retraction Criteria

Articles published in Jurnal Manajementa (Jumat) may be retracted if:

  • There is a major scientific error that invalidates the article’s conclusions, whether arising from research misconduct (e.g. data fabrication or falsification) or honest error (e.g. miscalculation or methodological mistakes).

  • The article contains findings that have been previously published elsewhere without proper citation, permission, or justification (redundant or duplicate publication).

  • Serious ethical violations are identified, including plagiarism or inappropriate authorship practices.

Retraction Procedure

To ensure compliance with best practices and the COPE Retraction Guidelines, Jurnal Manajementa (Jumat) applies the following procedure:

  1. Concerns regarding a published article are reported to the Editor.

  2. The Editor evaluates the case following COPE flowcharts, including requesting clarification or a response from the author(s).

  3. The findings are reviewed in consultation with the Editorial Board or Ethics Advisory body to ensure consistency and fairness.

  4. A final decision regarding retraction is communicated to the author(s) and, where appropriate, to relevant institutions.

  5. A formal retraction notice is published online and in the next available issue, clearly linked to the retracted article.

Authors retaining copyright do not have an automatic right to retract an article after publication. The integrity of the scholarly record remains the journal’s primary concern.

Article Correction

A correction may be issued when:

  • A limited portion of an otherwise reliable article contains inaccurate or misleading information due to honest error.

  • There is an error in the authorship or contributor list.

Corrections fall into the following categories:

  • Publisher Correction (Erratum): Issued to address errors introduced during the production or publishing process.

  • Author Correction (Corrigendum): Issued to correct errors made by the author(s) that affect the accuracy or integrity of the article.

  • Addendum: Issued to provide additional information, clarification, or updates that complement the original article.

The decision to issue a correction, and the type of correction required, is made by the Editor, sometimes in consultation with reviewers or Editorial Board members.

Article Removal

In very limited circumstances, an article may be removed from the journal’s online platform. This will only occur when the article is clearly defamatory, infringes legal rights, is subject to a court order, or poses a serious risk if acted upon. In such cases, the article’s metadata will be retained, but the full text will be replaced with a notice explaining the reason for removal.

Article Replacement

If an article poses a serious risk but can be corrected, authors may request to retract the original article and replace it with a revised version. In such cases, the retraction process will be followed, and the retraction notice will include a link to the corrected article along with a clear publication history.
